Adventure Details

We will begin our journey early in the morning from Puno. A comfortable boat will take us across the deep blue waters of Lake Titicaca. Our first stop will be the Uros Floating Islands, where we will meet the Uros people. They will show us how they build their islands using totora reeds.

This Exploración Cultural en Uros y Amantani will allow us to learn about their traditions. We will continue toward Amantani Island, where we will stay with a local family. They will prepare a delicious home-cooked meal using fresh ingredients from their land. In the afternoon, we will hike up Pachatata or Pachamama, the island’s sacred peaks.

The sunset from the top will offer breathtaking panoramic views of the vast lake. At night, we will join a traditional Andean celebration with music and dance. Our hosts will provide typical attire, so we will feel part of their culture. After a restful night, we will wake up to the sound of nature.

On the second day, we will visit Taquile Island, known for its Encanto y Tradición en Taquile. The men of the island will demonstrate their world-famous handwoven textiles, a UNESCO-recognized tradition. We will walk along stone pathways to reach the central plaza. A spectacular view of the snow-capped Andes will welcome us.

A local family will prepare lunch using freshly caught fish and organic produce. We will have free time to explore the island before returning to Puno. The return trip across Lake Titicaca will offer stunning landscapes and peaceful waters. By late afternoon, we will arrive back in Puno, filled with unforgettable memories.

Your Adventure Plan

Day 1Cultural Exploration in Uros and Amantani

We will begin our two-day tour in the city of Puno early in the morning. A comfortable boat will take us across the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca. The first stop will be the Uros Islands, a unique destination made entirely of totora reeds. The Uros people will welcome us and explain how they build and maintain their floating islands.

We will explore two of these incredible islands on Lake Titicaca. The locals will show us their reed boats, houses, and traditional crafts. We will have time to ask questions, take pictures, and even ride on a handmade reed boat. After this experience, we will head to Amantani Island and enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Titicaca.

The journey to Amantani will take 2:30 hours, offering spectacular landscapes of the highest navigable lake in the world. Upon arrival, local families will warmly receive us and guide us to their homes. After a short 30-minute walk, we will settle into their traditional houses, built with adobe and stone. The local hosts will prepare a homemade Andean lunch using fresh ingredients grown on the island.

In the afternoon, we will hike to the Pachatata and Pachamama temples, located at the highest point of Amantani. This sacred Pre-Inca site will offer an unforgettable view of Lake Titicaca at sunset. We will enjoy the views, take photos, and learn about local traditions still practiced today.

After returning to our homestay, we will enjoy a traditional dinner prepared by our host family. In the evening, we will attend a festive gathering, where locals will perform traditional music and dances. We will have the opportunity to wear typical Andean clothing and participate in this unique cultural experience.

Day 2Charm and Tradition in Taquile

We will start our morning with a hearty breakfast prepared by our local hosts. Before leaving Amantani, we will enjoy the peaceful morning view of Lake Titicaca. At 8:00 AM, we will take a one-hour boat ride to Taquile Island, one of the most picturesque islands on Lake Titicaca.

Upon arrival at the northern part of Taquile, we will begin a scenic walk to the main square. UNESCO recognizes Taquile Island for its famous handwoven textiles, which local artisans create using ancestral techniques. The local men will demonstrate their weaving skills, and we will learn about their ancestral textile traditions.

As we walk through Taquile, we will enjoy beautiful views of Lake Titicaca and the Andean mountains. The island’s unique stone paths and terraces will take us through centuries-old traditions. Around noon, we will enjoy a typical lunch, featuring fresh trout, quinoa soup, and Andean potatoes.

After lunch, we will descend towards the port of Taquile, where our boat will be waiting. We will return to the city of Puno, enjoying the last moments of our tour of Lake Titicaca. The journey back will take approximately 2:30 PM hours, arriving at 3:30 PM.
