Day 1Fly Over the Nazca and Palpa Lines: A Peruvian Adventure

We will begin by picking you up from your hotel in Nazca or the bus station and driving to Maria Reiche Airport. Upon arrival, our friendly staff will assist with check-in, airport tax, and a brief security process. Before boarding the Cessna 206 plane, we will watch a short film about the Nazca and Palpa Lines.

The aircraft’s high wings ensure panoramic views as we fly over southern Peru’s desert landscapes. Our 55-minute flight will feature 22 Nazca Lines, like the hummingbird, spider, and monkey, plus the lesser-known Palpa Lines. We will admire the Cantalloc aqueducts, spiral-shaped structures that show the Nazca people’s advanced engineering skills.

Our journey spans 220 kilometers and reaches 1,800 meters, offering amazing views of shapes, figures, and lines in the Nazca desert. As we descend, our pilot will share insights into these mysterious geoglyphs and their cultural significance.

After landing, we will receive a commemorative flight certificate and return to Nazca, reflecting on the extraordinary ingenuity of ancient civilizations. This one-hour tour combines history, culture, and adventure, giving us a lasting appreciation for southern Peru’s heritage.

This was the highlight of my time in Peru! The Nazca Lines are even more amazing in person. The Palpa Lines were a unique addition that I didn’t know much about before the flight, and they were just as fascinating.
Everything was well-timed, and the flight felt very safe and professional. The commemorative certificate was a lovely touch!
