Hotel Pickup and Drive to the Flight Zone

We will start our half-day paragliding tour in Sacred Valley with a hotel pickup in Cusco City. Our team will take us on a scenic 45 km (28 mi) drive along the Cusco–Chinchero–Urubamba route. This road will lead us through breathtaking landscapes, ancient Inca terraces, and vibrant Andean villages.

As we get closer to Montaña de Sacro, our takeoff site, we will see the stunning Valley of the Incas. This spot offers a privileged view of the Vilcanota River basin and the towering snow-capped peaks surrounding the valley. We will also pass through the agricultural lands of Chinchero, a region famous for its traditional Andean farming.

Arrival at Montaña de Sacro and Flight Preparation

We will arrive at the Montaña de Sacro, one of the best paragliding launch points in the region. This site offers a wide and open takeoff zone, making it ideal for a smooth and safe flight experience.

Our expert pilots will provide a detailed briefing on safety protocols, takeoff techniques, and in-flight positioning. We will suit up with professional paragliding gear, including a harness, helmet, and windproof clothing.

Before takeoff, we will do a final equipment check and listen to our pilots’ instructions. The strong but steady Andean winds will create perfect flying conditions, ensuring a stable and exciting flight.

Paragliding Over the Sacred Valley

Now comes the most exciting part! We will take a few steps forward and feel the wind lift us into the skies. Within seconds, we will glide effortlessly above the Andes, enjoying an adrenaline-filled yet peaceful experience.

As we fly above the Andes, we will have a bird’s-eye view of the Sacred Valley, the Vilcanota River, and the Andean peaks. The contrast between the green valleys, golden fields, and white-capped mountains will make this flight an unforgettable moment.

Our flight will last 15 to 25 minutes, depending on wind conditions. During this time, we will experience the thrill of soaring at altitudes of up to 4,100 m (13,451 ft). Our pilots may perform smooth turns or gentle maneuvers for those seeking extra excitement.

Landing and Return to Cusco

As we descend, we will glide over the Sacred Valley’s terraces, rivers, and farmlands, soaking in the last moments of this amazing experience. We will land smoothly on a designated safe zone, where our team will assist us with our gear.

After celebrating our incredible flight, we will take a short break to enjoy the fresh mountain air. We will have time to relax, capture photos, and share our emotions after this thrilling adventure.

Our transport will then take us back to Cusco City, following the same scenic route. Along the way, we will reflect on the amazing experience of paragliding in Cusco and the beauty of the Valley of the Incas. We will arrive in Cusco in the afternoon, filled with unforgettable memories.
